First major success of the season 2010 for Emma Johansson, Ridley Bikes and Red Sun Cycling Team. Emma Johansson managed to win the first spring classic of the season 2010 in women elite category. Red Sun Team dominated the race from the start with Emma Johansson in the break away. In Gent, Johansson, Verbeke and De Vocht sprinted for victory. Johansson was the strongest on the finish line.
Johanson : "Yesterdays victory in “Het Nieuwsblad” made all the suffering on training this winter worth it. A perfect start of the season! The team, my condition, supporters and the Belgium weather was just like I hoped. This was a team victory! Last year we were a small team. This year we made the race and took control. We put pressure on the bigger teams and stuck to our offensive tactic. That clearly puts RedSun up with the toppers."
