The Lotto Belisol Team added Gianni Meersman as the last rider of their selection. He signed a 2 year contract. Next season, Gianni Meersman will compete on a Ridley bike.
Gianni has proven himself to be one of the best Belgian riders. His second place in the Belgian National championship 2011, after Philippe Gilbert, confirms this.
Marc Sergeant: “A rider with such potential definitely has a place in our team. We hope that he will continue to improve at Lotto Belisol, certainly now his best years as an athlete are coming.”
After a few years in a French team, Meersman finds it refreshing to be part of a Belgian team. “During the first contacts with the team I noticed the huge difference in terms of mentality and team spirit”, Gianni Meersman says. “ I am looking forward to ride and train with my new team!”
