
Eight years after his first stage victory in the Tour de France, Russian stalwart Serguei Ivanov and gets his second victory in a Tour de France stage. The 34-year-old Russian did it the hard way, the day's efforts clearly visible after crossing the line in the capital of the Doubs départment. Off the front for most of the 200 kilometres of today's journey from Colmar, Ivanov timed his late-stage attack perfectly to take Katusha's first Tour triumph.With 20 kilometres of the stage run, 13 riders went clear. Despite the quality of the break, Ivanov's power and experience shone through, launching the decisive attack with 11 kilometres remaining and quickly built a 30-second advantage which he was able to desperately preserve to take Tour win number two and the first for his fledgling Russian squad
