Joerie Vansteelant snapped his first win of the season in the scorching heat in Valmadrera near Lake Como, Italy. The race was set up in a 2 x 10 km run and a 1 x 70 km bike ride. The Italian Picco, was Joerie's main competitor. But during the bike ride, Joerie built up a nice lead, and he had a 1 min 30 sec lead in the transition area. Joerie, rides a Ridley Dean or Noah depending on the course, did not tolerate any competition in the bike ride.
During the second run, Joerie increased his lead to 2min 30sec. The German Retzlaff completed the podium.
