On April 14, Dirk Baelus finished on a 38th place (out of 1700 paricipants) in the IM Port-Elisabeth. With this performance he earned his ticket to participate in the Ironman Hawaï.

Dirk received a new Dean FAST to help him with this big challenge. This is one of the prototypes, but the model will be available for consumers at the start of 2014. This new timetrial/triathlon weapon can be custom made for every rider.

Dirk Baelus: “The Lotto-Belisol riders have already ridden the timetrials of the Tour de France on the Dean FAST. In the Team Time Trial, they did exceptionally well. All riders were very enthousiastic about this frame. I am one of the lucky athletes that will be riding it in Kona.

Yesterday I took the bike for a first spin, and I couldn’t believe the difference with my ‘old’ TT bike. It feels like there is a small engine helping you to go forward. I will save a lot of time with this bike! Thanks Ridley!”
