This summer, Ridley launches the Fenix SLX Disc, the lightest all-round road bike with disc brakes on the market. This real Belgian product is the successor of the Fenix SL Disc. The difference between the two bikes? The new Fenix SLX Disc weights less than 850 gram, so he is a lot lighter. The history of the Fenix begins in 2010. In the meantime, Cadel Evans, André Greipel and the junior worldchampion of 2016 in Doha rode on the Ridley Fenix. The Fenix SLX can handle all sort of terrains and road surfaces.
“Ridley is very proud of this product. We designed it at our own headquarters and fabric in Belgium. We feel proud about being Belgian and we want to improve our products continuously. That’s the only way to bring the best products on the market. We definitely succeeded in this purpose with the Fenix SLX”, says Jochim Aerts, CEO.
“We worked very hard on the composition of the carbon fiber. We really wanted to reduce the weight of the Fenix SLX, preferably lower than 850 gram for a painted Fenix SLX. We made it”, says Morten Kristiansen, Head of Product and marketing.
The bike is equiped with the iconical Ridley Diamond Shape. The stiffness of the headtube and the bottom bracket is increased with 5%, in comparison with the Fenix SL.
“We put the chainstay a little bit lower. This gives the bike a perfect mix of endurance characteristics and power transferring. That’s what our athletes expect from the Fenix. Combine this with a leading tire pressure up to 30mm and disc brakes and you know immediately what the new Fenix SLX stands for, a modern all-round race bike”, continues Kristiansen.
The Fenix SLX is available by our official Ridley dealers from September 2017. You can find a dealer with the “Find a dealer” button in the menu.
