Bronze and Belgian Record for Belgian Women on Omnium Fast and Arena Fast
This week, the Track Cycling World Championships are being held at the Velódromo Peñalolén in Santiago, Chile. The Belgian women have already been particularly successful. The national team pursuit squad broke the Belgian record on the Arena Fast, while Hélène Hesters claimed bronze in the elimination race on the Omnium Fast!
Belgian Cycling and Ridley have been collaborating for several years. Riders such as Jasper De Buyst, Lotte Kopecky, and Lindsay De Vylder have shone on our track bikes in recent years. They ride both the Arena Fast and the Omnium Fast. Our engineers developed the Arena Fast based on the Arena TT, on which Victor Campenaerts set the hour record. The F-Surface Plus on the frame and fork generates a controlled amount of turbulence, allowing the main airflow to follow the tube’s shape precisely.
While the Arena Fast is used in sprint and pursuit events, the Omnium Fast targets omnium disciplines: the scratch race, tempo race, elimination, and points race. Each discipline requires riders to combine speed with agility in the peloton. In group events, where waves and impulsive rider actions determine the pace, reaction skills are essential. The Omnium Fast is designed with geometry that responds quickly and confidently to unexpected movements in the peloton.

Double Success
On day 2 of the World Championships, two highlights followed immediately. Hélène Hesters claimed bronze in the elimination race after a strong tactical performance. She came through the opening phase unscathed and played the race very smartly. Shortly after, she also took part in the team pursuit. Together with Shari Bossuyt, Katrijn De Clercq, and Luca Vierstraete, she rode to a Belgian record: 4'15"489. That time also secured a spot in the small final, where Great Britain proved too strong. Ridley will continue to be active in Chile in the coming days!
