Five National Titles for Uno-X, Including Victory with the Strata Design

Last week, the national road cycling championships took place across Europe. For Uno-X, it was a glorious week. In addition to the expected double victory in Norway—Sigrid Ytterhus Haugset claiming the women's title and Anders Skaarseth winning the men's race—the team also celebrated success in Finland and Denmark. Skaarseth secured the Norwegian title aboard a bike featuring the original Strata design. The 31-year-old Norwegian champion will proudly debut his new national champion's jersey in front of a global audience at the Tour de France.

Uno-X's dominance in Norway has been remarkable. The last rider to break the team's red-and-yellow stronghold was Tobias Foss in 2021, when he finished ahead of Skaarseth. Skaarseth had to wait another five years, but this time the experienced road captain finally claimed his moment of glory. In Stavanger, he even took the very first professional victory of his career. On the podium, he was joined by teammates Markus Hoelgaard and Jonas Abrahamsen. Only one rider in the top 15 wore a jersey other than Uno-X colours. In the spring of 2023, Norway's new national champion suffered a broken leg during the E3 Saxo Classic. It took months of hard work before he was even able to walk normally again, but now he heads to the Tour in a stunning new outfit. A fun fact: Skaarseth claimed his victory aboard a special Noah Fast featuring our brand-new Strata design. This custom paint scheme is also available to our customers through the configurator.

A Danish Fairytale

Danish fairytales are usually written by Hans Christian Andersen—think The Little Mermaid and The Ugly Duckling—but last Sunday, it was Magnus Cort who wrote his own. Just hours after announcing his retirement from professional cycling, he claimed his first Danish national title. He, too, will proudly wear his champion's jersey in the Grande Boucle starting next week.

The women's team went one step further by winning three national titles. Katrine Aalerud successfully defended her Norwegian time trial title, while Anniina Ahtosalo did the same in Finland. The most spectacular victory, however, came courtesy of Sigrid Ytterhus Haugset. The 27-year-old claimed her first professional victory in impressive fashion, crossing the finish line solo more than a minute ahead of Aalerud. After recently finishing 19th in the Vuelta and 14th in the Giro, this national title marks another significant step forward in her career.
