Lode and Ward Lemmelijn ride the Grifn RS thanks to Fietsen Loix
Sports icons from Tienen, Lode and Ward Lemmelijn, received their Grifn RS bikes from our dealer Fietsen Loix in Brustem. The brothers will use this gem during their cycling training as they pursue their sporting ambitions. This collaboration was made possible thanks to our in-house paint shop at the factory and the strong relationship with our loyal dealer Fietsen Loix.
Ward Lemmelijn (29) is a well-known Flemish media personality. He has won several prestigious titles in indoor rowing and gained wider recognition through his impressive performances in De Container Cup. He also participated in TV shows such as De Verraders, Dancing with the Stars and De Slimste Mens ter Wereld. Currently, he is one of the faces of the campaign “Kom van dat gat af”, encouraging people in Flanders to be more physically active. A noble goal that Ridley fully supports. To help the brothers in this mission, we are providing each of them with a Grifn RS. This award-winning bike is suitable for both road and off-road riding. Thanks to its all-round geometry, Ward and Lode can put their power to use on any terrain.
Thanks to our in-house paint shop, bikes can be fully designed in the colors of your dreams. Customers can configure the design of their bike through our configurator. For Ward, we also added several personal touches. The bike references his world titles in indoor rowing, his participation and victory in Dancing with the Stars, and his ever-present rosary.

Personal trainer
In 2024, Flanders also got to know Lode Lemmelijn (26), Ward’s younger brother who impressed viewers in the TV program Kamp Waes. Lode graduated as a physiotherapist with a specialization in sports physiotherapy and works as a personal trainer. He too is passionate about sports. In 2025 he became the father of Maxine, with Ward chosen as her godfather.
Lode will also receive a Grifn RS. Several special touches refer to his personal life. The time 5:52.4 refers to his performance on the 2,000-meter indoor rowing test, while Maxine also earned a place on the front fork, alongside his partner Paris and the family dog.

Three generations
The bikes were made available to the brothers thanks to our loyal dealer Fietsen Loix from Brustem in Limburg. The shop is considered one of the largest in the Haspengouw region. Three generations of the Loix family are involved in the business, which has been selling Eddy Merckx Bikes for decades and added Ridley to its range in 2024.
It was Jos Loix who started the business in 1964 in a workshop behind his parents’ home. “That was my father’s passion,” laughs his son and current manager Johan. “He used to tell stories about how he would carry a new bike on his shoulder back to Brustem. He expanded the garage into a shop where he sold women’s and men’s bikes, mopeds, and from the seventies onwards also racing bikes. At the beginning of the eighties the shop in the center of Brustem was opened.” Gradually, sons Frank, Johan and Tom joined the business. The store once again became too small and in 2014 a new shop on the Luikersteenweg was officially opened. With Nick and Laura, Fietsen Loix has now reached its third generation.
No doubt Ward and Lode will proudly show off their new bikes in the beautiful Fruit Region in the coming months.
