From Beringen to the Tour: how the yellow jersey led to a one-of-a-kind Ridley Noah Fast
Some moments in cycling are bigger than a stage victory. When a rider pulls on the yellow jersey at the Tour de France, they make history. Not only for themselves, but also for everyone who helped them along the way. For their team. For their supporters. And sometimes even for the brand they ride. That's exactly what happened when Torstein Træen claimed the yellow jersey after stage four of the 2026 Tour de France. At Ridley, we celebrated the moment like every cycling fan would. But before the champagne had even cooled, a new plan was already taking shape inside our factory in Beringen. Because a yellow jersey deserves a yellow bike.
The speed at which we were able to react was no coincidence. Ridley is still a Belgian family-owned company where almost every step of the development and production process takes place under one roof. Our engineers develop every bike in Beringen, our assembly team builds them, and in our in-house paint department we bring dozens of fully customised designs to life every day. That flexibility allows us not only to create dream bikes for our customers, but also to prepare a one-of-a-kind Noah Fast for the leader of the Tour de France in less than thirty hours.
For this project, the paint department welcomed a very special guest. CEO and founder Jochim Aerts picked up the spray gun once again. Long before Ridley became an internationally recognised cycling brand, his story began in his parents' garage, where he built and painted bicycle frames himself. For this Noah Fast, he wanted to experience that craftsmanship one more time. He personally applied the iconic Tour yellow, paying tribute both to Torstein's achievement and to the roots of the company.

Dream bikes
"Ridley is still a 100% family-owned company," says Jochim Aerts. "Nearly every step of our production process still takes place here in our Belgian factory. Our in-house paint department is one of the things that truly sets us apart. Every day we build dream bikes for our customers, but moments like these remind us why we started Ridley in the first place. Seeing the yellow jersey on a Ridley is incredibly special. Being able to give Torstein a matching bike makes the story complete."
From the moment Træen mathematically secured the yellow jersey, the clock started ticking. A Noah Fast frameset was taken from stock, the perfect shade of yellow was mixed and the painting process began. The frame then passed through the curing oven, received its clear coat, decals and final quality inspection. On Wednesday afternoon, Team Support & Equipment Coordinator Wesley Widar travelled with the frameset to Brussels Airport before flying to southern France, where it was delivered to Uno-X Mobility that same evening. This allowed the team's mechanics to build the bike in time for the next stage of the Tour.

A wave of yellow
Over the past few days, it wasn't just the Noah Fast that turned yellow. Our social media channels, our website and even the atmosphere inside the Belgian Cycling Factory revolved around this special achievement. Everyone shared in the excitement. Not simply because the yellow jersey is being ridden on a Ridley, but because moments like these perfectly capture what our brand stands for. We build bikes in the heart of cycling, driven by Belgian passion, craftsmanship and a relentless desire to innovate. From our wind tunnel to our paint department, from the very first sketch to the final bolt, everything we do is focused on performance.
Over the years, we've celebrated many unforgettable achievements. Victor Campenaerts' Hour Record, Jonas Abrahamsen's Tour de France stage victory, Lindsay De Vylder's Omnium World Championship and Jelle Geens' back-to-back IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship titles all hold a special place in our history. But for every cycling fan, the yellow jersey remains the ultimate symbol of the sport. Seeing Torstein Træen wear it on a Ridley makes us incredibly proud.
