Winning weekend for Ridley

On Saturday (Volta ao Algarve) we had an awesome victory with André Greipel, a Millimeter Sprint against John Degenkolb and Dylan Van Groenewegen. The spectators and commentators weren’t sure who won, but André’s gut feeling was correct!

One day later Tim Wellens was victorious. In the Ruta Del Sol, where it rained all day, Tim was a part of a long breakaway. With 10km to go they knew the breakaway would stand and the Poker Game started. Each of the 6 riders tried to get away, but no-one succeeded, a sprint would decide the winner. Wellens started at 300m from the finish, took 2 lengths on Simon Clarke and kept the lead. The third victory for Wellens this season already!

The same day, in Portugal, Algarve, Tiesj Benoot and Tony Gallopin thrived on the success of Greipel. With an uphill finish they were eager to finish well, and so they did! With a third place in the stage Tiesj kept his leader’s jersey in the Youth Classification. Tony Gallopin remained with the leaders and crawled onto the podium, with a third place in the GC.
