3 in 3 for Marianne Vos at the Ladies Tour of Norway

Marianne Vos grows back to her best form
Marianne Vos, a phenomenon in women cycling and the last few weeks clearly growing to her best form. She already proved this by winning the Crescent Vargarda for the third time and a stage during the Giro Rosa. This rising form reached a peak last weekend.

During the Ladies Tour of Norway - which is part of the WorldTour for women - the riders were given a challenging course. The combination with the grim weather conditions made this race a very difficult task. The second stage had to be driven almost completely in the rain.

These difficult circumstances inspired Marianne Vos to start this stage race with a lot of ambition and allure. After having already won this race in 2017, her ambitions quickly became clear during the first stage. She immediately took the first bonus sprint and her teammates of WaowDeals controlled the rest of the stage. After an exciting final, Vos took the Swedish Emilia Fahlin to graze on a sprint uphill to take the day victory.

This heralded the start of a Merckxian Ladies Tour of Norway for Marianne Vos. During the second and third stage, her WaowDeals team controlled the stages and Vos countered, where necessary, the attacks of other riders by herself. She would eventually win the second and third stage and with that, of course, also the final classification. With this win she succeeds herself as the winner of the Ladies Tour of Norway.
