Pauwels Sauzen-Bingoal

Belgium-based Pauwels Sauzen-Bingoal is one of the top professional cyclocross teams in the world. Former U23 Cyclocross World Champion, 24-year-old Michael Vanthourenhout, leads the team at the elite men’s level. In only his first year racing with the cyclocross elites, in 2015-2016, he scored an impressive 4th at the European Championships. One year later he landed on the second podium spot at the first (USA) World Cup and.on the thirth spot at the prestigious GP Sven Nys, known as one of the hardest most challenging courses on the circuit. His best performance so far was a silver medal on last year’s World Championships in Valkenburg. He’s also known for his technical prowess, hopping his X-Night over just about any barrier he comes up against.

Dominating the U23 men’s category is 20-year-old teammate Eli Iserbyt. He went straight from winning the Junior World Championship to dominating the U23 Worlds the very next two seasons. He is the current European Champion as well.

Representing the team in the women’s field are former mountainbiker Alicia Frank and breakout talent Laura Verdonschot. In the 2016-2017 season, at only 20 years of age, Verdonschot scored a professional contract with the team after an impressive battle for the Elite Belgium National Title against World Champion Sanne Cant. She lost the fight on the day but earned herself the U23 National Title for the second year in a row.
