This Saturday, July 4, Uno-X will line up in Barcelona for the start of the 113th edition of the Tour de France. The team heads to Catalonia with a mix of Norwegian and Danish riders, led by newly crowned national champions Anders Skaarseth and Magnus Cort. Uno-X also has a double mission: just like last year, Jonas Abrahamsen will be targeting stage victories, while Tobias Halland Johannessen hopes to improve on his sixth-place finish in the 2025 general classification. One thing is already certain: thanks to our Vikings, Ridley will once again enjoy a full month in the spotlight.

The Norwegians have certainly made their presence felt at the FIFA World Cup. Their now-famous Viking Row took over Times Square in no time, with the images spreading around the globe. Even Google joined the trend with a special visual for anyone searching for the celebration. And now, the Norwegians are ready to make their mark on the cycling world as well. Uno-X heads to La Grande Boucle with six Norwegian warriors. Alongside Skaarseth, Tobias Halland Johannessen (joined by his brother Anders Halland Johannessen) and Abrahamsen, Søren Wærenskjold and Torstein Træen complete the Norwegian contingent. Wærenskjold enjoyed a successful Tour last year, finishing third in the opening stage and fourth in Stage 3. He has yet to take a victory this season, but perhaps everything will finally fall into place in France. His first real opportunity is likely to come on Stage 5 from Lannemezan to Pau.

A Fitting Farewell

The Danish delegation consists of Anthon Charmig—recent stage winner at the Tour Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes—and Magnus Cort. The newly crowned Danish champion recently announced that this will be his final season as a professional cyclist. He is about to start his eighth Tour de France, making him the team's most experienced rider. Cort has won two Tour stages during his career: in Carcassonne in 2018 and in Megève in 2022. Earlier this year, he also proved in the Volta a Catalunya that he certainly hasn't forgotten how to win. The Danish national title is already a fitting farewell, but Cort would never pass up the chance to add another highlight to his farewell season. With this eight-man squad, stage victories are certainly within reach, although many will try and only a few will succeed.

Once again, Uno-X will race on our Noah Fast. For the time trials, the team will switch to the Dean Fast, while some riders will opt for the Falcn RS in the high-mountain stages. From our headquarters in Beringen, we'll be following every kilometre of the Tour, hoping for a repeat—or even an improvement—of last year's success.
