Two-time winner Normann Stadler returns to Hawaii

German athlete Normann Stadler is a true legend in the world of triathlon. The athlete from Baden-Württemberg won the world-famous Ironman Hawaii in 2004 and 2006. A few years later, he was confronted with heart problems that ultimately brought an end to his professional career. Twenty years after winning his last world title, he now wants to return to Kona, where he experienced the greatest moments of his career. To mark this new chapter, he is entering into a fitting partnership with Ridley.

The Ridley E-ASTR has now been around for about a year, and more and more cycling enthusiasts are discovering what this assisted gravel bike has to offer. The reactions after a first test ride have been remarkably positive. That was certainly the case for Griet Wouters from the Belgian Kempen region, who rediscovered her love of cycling thanks to the bike. “Thanks to the E-ASTR, I can finally go riding with my husband again,” she says. “He has much stronger legs than I do, but thanks to the motor we can stay together and both get a great workout. For me, it makes a world of difference.”

Within the gravel community, interest in this larger wheel size is growing rapidly. The engineers at Belgian Cycling Factory are therefore actively working on their own prototype to thoroughly explore the potential of 32-inch wheels in a gravel context.
