Ridley Shakes the Industry with Transferable Lifetime Warranty

Belgian Cycling Factory (BCF) announces a significant upgrade to its warranty policy. As of 1 January 2026, the Belgian bicycle manufacturer will offer a lifetime and transferable warranty on frames and forks for bicycles from Ridley, Eddy Merckx, Aeres and Nukeproof, provided the bicycle is registered within 30 days of purchase.

With this move, BCF reaffirms its commitment to durable products, transparency and long-term relationships with both riders and retailers. The new warranty replaces the previous 2/5-year system and forms part of a broader strategic choice: investing in long-term trust rather than short-term commercial incentives.

Transferable and future-oriented

A key element of the new warranty policy is its full transferability to a second owner. This strengthens the residual value of bicycles from Ridley, Eddy Merckx, Aeres and Nukeproof and aligns with a broader vision of circularity, sustainability and responsible product use within the cycling industry. For Nukeproof Downhill models, a 2-year warranty remains applicable; all other models fall under the new lifetime framework.

Expression of quality and responsibility

Within the bicycle industry, “lifetime” refers to the technical lifespan of the frame under normal use and yearly maintenance by a certified BCF-dealer. Belgian Cycling Factory applies a market-aligned limit of up to 10 years from the original purchase date, clearly and transparently defined in its legal Terms & Conditions.

By communicating “lifetime” in a clear and consistent way, BCF aims to reduce complexity for end users while providing a reliable and predictable framework for retailers, partners and organisations investing with a long-term perspective.

Extension of the BCF philosophy

As a 100% family-owned company, Belgian Cycling Factory has been building strong bicycle brands with a clear identity for decades. The introduction of a lifetime and transferable warranty is a natural extension of this philosophy. BCF consistently puts the rider and the retailer at the centre of its thinking, while supporting retailers with clear, consistent and credible market propositions. The warranty reflects BCF’s confidence in its engineering, product quality and long-term partnerships across the entire value chain.

Effective from 1 January 2026

The new warranty policy applies to bicycles purchased from 1 January 2026, provided the bicycle is registered within 30 days of purchase and subject to clear and transparent conditions regarding ongoing maintenance, as defined in the applicable Terms & Conditions.
