Kenneth Vandendriessche wins Ironman Lanzarote on Dean Fast

Our ambassador Kenneth Vandendriessche won the highly regarded Ironman Lanzarote last Saturday. He repeated his feat from two years ago and flew over the roads on his Dean Fast during the cycling segment. As a bonus, he receives a ticket to the Ironman World Championship in Hawaii.

This winter marked the beginning of our new partnership with Kenneth, who has previously raced on Ridley bikes. The 32-year-old from Izegem won the Ironman 70.3 Luxembourg back then. Moreover, he already has three European duathlon titles to his name.

On to Hawaii

Saturday's race began tumultuously as Kenneth lost his goggles at the start and had to chase immediately. During the cycling segment, he stuck to his pacing plan and achieved the planned wattages. “It was tough to let people pass, but I stayed focused on the bigger plan.” This became evident during the marathon, where he overtook everyone and ran to victory.

Kenneth completed the 181.34 kilometers in 4:49:47. Along the way, there were 2,440 meters of elevation gain. On his Dean Fast, he maintained an average power of 270 watts (for 65 kilos), enough for this sharp time. Soon, he will make his appearance in Hawaii, where he finished 37th in 2022.

We are proud of an ambassador like Kenneth and will continue to support him towards the World Championship!

Dean Fast

No room for compromise!

The Dean Fast is the fastest bike in our entire range. This time trial bike is a no-compromise model, developed in the Bike Valley wind tunnel, adjacent to our factory. The Dean Fast pushes the limits of UCI regulations and features an F-Surface Plus on the frame, allowing you to slice through the wind. A removable front derailleur hanger means that riders who choose a 1x setup get the most streamlined look possible when using the custom cover that replaces the hanger.
